Portable Water Filtration System: CW42-WT-200 Unit

The CW42-WT-200 portable water purifier has been developed in collaboration with humanitarian aid advisors to provide pure and safe drinking water in the field for their staff. This highly mobile, hand operated unit is ideal for use in field camps, field hospitals and as standard equipment in vehicles.

The CW42-WT-200 Unit guarantees totally pure and safe drinking water from any fresh water source. The unit is powered by 110-250v mains electricity, a 12v car battery or a hand pump.

The CW42-WT-200 Unit produces 2-5 litres of pure water a minute.

Water Purification System Technology:

Stages of water filtration:

1. Pre-filter

Designed to remove particulate matter such as sand, rust, algae etc from water to a predefined size, e.g. 5µm.

2. Redox Alloy

Redox Alloy is an alloy of very high purity copper and zinc. It removes chlorine and heavy metals from water in exchange for zinc ions. It also causes iron and aluminium to precipitate.

3. OSC

OSC is a patented activated carbon. It is designed to have maximum absorption of metals and minimum absorption of organics.

4. Ceramic Filter

This is a silvered ceramic mechanical filter rated at 0.3 µm. It removes all pathogenic bacteria and all protozoan cysts (such as Cryptosporidium).

5. Solid Block Carbon

This is activated carbon extruded into a cylinder to minimise the effects of "channelling". It is designed to remove organic contamination from water.
