Hygiene promotion should always be considered as part of any emergency response operation involving the supply of safe water and sanitation facilities. Hygiene promotion boxes contain necessary items that are essential to the implementation of hygiene promotion activities in emergencies. Box A contains information, education and communication (IEC) materials and background materials that enable community and household level hygiene promotion activities to be implemented where population numbers are limited. The box is targeted for between 2,000 and 5,000 beneficiaries. The kit is packed in a sturdy waterproof, crushproof and dustproof case for safe transit worldwide.
