Sales Engineer – (Essex)

The Role:

The Sales Engineer will play a key role in working with the current Sales Team in the management and support of the existing customer base and the future development of new accounts. 

Responding in a flexible manner to daily challenges, the Sales Engineer will often be the first point of contact for many clients, providing assistance with enquiries, quotations and orders, over the telephone and building and maintaining good customer relationships at every opportunity.  Full training will include products, sales procedure training, company policies and company culture.

Main duties of the Sales Engineer would include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • To assist the Sales Team in all aspects of the job, as required.
  • Responding to customer enquiries and constructing quotations.
  • Building relationships with existing and new clients.
  • Reading technical drawings and specifying appropriate products to meet the customer’s needs.
  • Chase outstanding quotations and demonstrate an ability to ‘close a sale’.
  • Provide appropriate sales pack information and workings to field operations and production.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A ‘can do’ sales attitude is essential and a willingness to be flexible to support the needs of the business.
  • Exceptional computer skills.
  • A full and clean driving licence.
  • An energetic personality.
  • An ambitious, sales biased approach to work.
  • 2 years’ experience in a technical background in mechanical or civil engineering or similar role preferred, although graduates with engineering degree would be considered.
